Summer, sun, offline – why we often don’t really arrive in the digital rush.
Digital Summer Detox – An Invitation to Unwind
Imagine your phone being turned off for a day. No scrolling. No pinging. No “just checking.” Just you – and what’s happening around you.
Summer is here. The sun is warming. And maybe something inside you is calling out: “I just want to get out. But also inside.”
We’re online so often that we miss what’s really important: the laughter of a child in a café. The wind in the trees. Our own deep breaths.
This post is a small invitation. Not dogma. Not technophobia. Just an inspiration: What if you went digital for 48 hours – and emerged in real life?
Why less screen time gives you more summer
Constant availability is exhausting.
Not just your head. Also your heart.
Because the more we react, the less we feel.
A digital detox isn’t a sacrifice.
It’s a loving “yes” to yourself.
To your presence. Your authentic experience. Your here and now.
Three gentle steps to your offline weekend
1. A conscious promise to yourself.
Write a little note: “I’m allowed to switch off.”
Place it somewhere visible. Remind yourself: This isn’t a sacrifice. It’s caring.
2. Prepare your space.
Activate airplane mode, set up automatic replies.
Let loved ones know. Maybe they’ll join in?
3. Plan small offline pleasures.
A walk. A book. A journal. Painting. Cooking.
Or just lying there and watching the clouds.
What remains when you disconnect?
Perhaps you’ll feel a deep calm.
Perhaps a small emptiness – from which something real grows.
Feel free to write to me and tell me how things went.
What you discovered when the screen remained black.
I look forward to hearing from you. From heart to heart.
With love,
Rosa-Maria
